How to read a comparison of potential partners

A useful comparison shows both available information and what still needs clarification.

Write your criteria before assessing names: business activity, served market, customer types, relevant experience and resources needed for the relationship.

Organise information alongside its sources and dates. Distinguish a counterpart’s own claims from information confirmed by a document or another reference. An office address or client logo on a website needs context; neither alone proves delivery capability.

A comparison may suggest an introductory meeting, further information gathering or that a candidate does not meet current criteria. Record questions for the meeting rather than concealing gaps.

Before a long-term commitment or major project, identify what needs deeper assessment or specialist involvement. The aim is a clear next step grounded in your requirements.
